Problem (3)

The owner of the parent parcel wants to partition off a smaller parcel. The smaller parcel will share three corners with the parent parcel (points B, A, and G). The northeasterly boundary is to be a 250.00 ft radius circular arc centered on a well head. Lines GH and CB are both to be tangent to the arc.

The surveyor made the measurements shown on the diagram. Point A's coordinates were fixed as 200.00'N and 500.00'E and the direction of line AB was assumed to be S 87°50'35" E.

Using the intended geometric relationships and surveyor's measurements, determine the following:

Part (a)

Bearing and length of line GH.

Part (b)

Bearing and length of line CB.

Part (c)

Arc length CH.
